I received a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications from BYU where I took classes that went in-depth into producing concepts; including the Nielsen Window, active voice, and good writing skills. I’ve also spent much time on the technical side of the newscast, which has shown me how the production of a newscast comes together.
From September 2017 through December 2017 I was an intern at ABC4 in Salt Lake City, Utah. It gave me a variety of experiences, including: shadowing a reporter putting a story together in various locations, helping write some stories for the newscasts, and learning more about being a photographer for a live shot.
During the Winter 2018 semester (January – April 2018), I produced the BYU Friday sports show called YSports. I stacked the show, supervised beginning producers, and wrote both teases and VOs.
I spent time as a reporter while a student at BYU. Here are a few of the experiences in the videos below.
Coogtube Stories
I spent Fall 2016 semester as a student reporter for CoogTube on KBYU Eleven News. It was a wonderful experience that introduced me to the wonderful world of television news. This time helped me to understand the needs of the different newsroom positions and how I can assist them.

Internship Stories
During my time as an intern at ABC4 (KTVX) in Salt Lake City, UT, I turned a couple packages from stories that I shadowed. This gave me an opportunity to fine tune my reporter skills, as well as my video editing and writing skills.
